manuscripts are split, the X family agreeing with R while the P family supports beta's

He syt neyþir with Iohan ne Iemes / with Ierom / ne with awstyn.F.9.319: F's reading is unique. Bx reads "He sit neiþer wiþ Seint Iohan Symond ne Iude." Alpha is responsible for the omission of Seint in the a-verse, but F revised the line to fit a new alliterative stave.
